Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

January 20, 2023

Prospect Heights, a neighborhood that takes all the best parts of Park Slope, Crown Heights, and Clinton Hill, then shakes them all together. From the culinary wonderland of Vanderbilt Ave to the entrance of Prospect Park, this small slice of Brooklyn has a lot to offer. We’ve put together a hit list of our favorites (get ready for a lot of dining options) for the next time you take a winter’s stroll down Flatbush.

White Tiger

For: savory, convivial, modern Korean food & fun, lighthearted cocktails. Whatever you do, the Mandoo, Chicken Bites, and Kalbi Lettuce Wraps are a MUST!

Ciao Gloria

For: a casual cafe / coffee shop with an italian flair. The sweets and focaccia sandwiches are a BIG highlight in the neighb.

Patti Ann’s

For: serve yourself soft serve in the summer, fresh sourdough loafs to-go, and a nostalgic Midwest-inspired dining menu.

Tom’s Restaurant

For: the neighborhood’s diner! Grab a stack of their legendary pancakes with a side of sausage.

King David Tacos

For: the home-base of NYC’s favorite traveling taco. We love heading here for breakfast tacos at lunchtime with a side of queso.

Maison Yaki

For: French / Japanese fusion from the chef behind Olmsted & Patti Ann’s.

Bier Wax

For: vinyl records, and craft beer. This Black-owned bar on Vanderbilt is a great place to spend a night with friends, and when the weather is good, you can enjoy your drinks on their wonderful back patio.

LaLou Wine Bar

For: natural wines in a high-end, modern space. LaLou focuses on old-world varietals but definitely has good options for those of you who like your wine FUNKY. Oh…and the small plates are the perfect pairing. Might we suggest the olives?

Gold Star Beer Counter

For: craft beers & small plates in a modern shop on a sweet neighborhood corner.

Unnameable Books

For: one of the best used & new bookstores in the city. Stop by for an unexpected find in a small gem of a shop.

1 of a Find Vintage

For: a fun vintage thrifting experience. Women’s clothing, cute homewares &&& more!

Brooklyn Museum

For: ART! The Brooklyn Museum is maybe the most underrated museum in the city. We love their free first Saturday’s full of music and celebration at the start of each month.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

For: NATURE! (We highly recommend grabbing yourself a yearly membership if you’re like us and go every week in the Spring!)
