What led you to start your career as a chef?
Cooking for my siblings after school while my parents were at work.
Do you have a most-loved item on the Noortwyck menu?
Bucatini with ramps and white pepper because it was on our opening menu and it embodies our restaurant ethos: simple but difficult to properly execute, good ingredients and a creative twist on a classic.
What’s your favorite part about the New York creative community?
The diversity, the respect for tradition, and the space for everybody to share their voices and ideas.
What’s your favorite place in NYC?
Cafe Fanelli's in soho. It's a mini ecosystem of New York City as a whole.
What’s inspiring you right now?
Eric Huang. He's always genuine and true to himself and his product and personality prove that.
