How did your career as a fashion designer begin?
I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in fashion. I grew up in Miami and I was always attracted to texture and color. I applied to a high school with a fashion program in Miami's Design District, and went to Parsons from there.
What's your favorite part about the New York creative community?
Having left the city recently to open my Hudson shop, it's definitely different, but I've been completely charmed by the friendliness of the community in Hudson. The shops and makers are all supportive of each other, and it feels like there is so much room for collaboration across mediums and types of design.
What's inspiring you right now?
Having just moved into a new home, I am looking at a lot of interior design and vintage furniture. I love the homes of Alexander Calder, Georgia O'Keefe, and Cy Twombly, so I've been looking at images of those for color, space, and furnishing inspiration!
